ACP MTS Programme is an EU financed initiative that gives a response to the need to actively involve ACP countries in the multilateral trading system, enhance their national development and support their international integration.
It was specifically designed to provide tutoring activities aimed at creating and/or consolidating negotiation capacities able to ensure all countries equal benefit from WTO policies and rules.
The Technical Assistance is provided by ACP-PMU Consortium lead by ACE.
Programme Objectives
The main purposes of the Programme are
- To assist ACP countries in reforming and adjusting to the multilateral trading system
- To improve their capacity to negotiate and implement multilateral trade agreements
- To integrate trade into the development process of the ACP countries
- To facilitate accession of ACP member countries to the WTO
